The First Lady of the United States (FLOTUS) has taken the title of the most stylish woman to have ever been in the White House (in our books)! She has been ‘working’ each outfit she wears and no one looks prouder than POTUS.
Here are six occasions where FLOTUS took the centre stage:
1. The Deep Blue Jacquard Gown by Jason Wu
Michelle Obama looked sensational in a deep blue jacquard gown by Jason Wu, which featured a colourful flower pattern and asymmetrical draping. She opted for this dress to welcome Canadian president, Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau.
2.Orange Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen Dress
At the State Dinner to honour Chinese president, Hu Jintao, Michelle Obama wore an orang-red silk and black petal printed Alexander McQueen dress from Sarah Burton’s 2011 resort collection.
3. Black Custom Mermaid Gown by Vera Wang
In September 2015, Obama wore a jet black floor-length dress in silk crepe with a hand-draped skirt and organza sleeves at the State Dinner for China.
4. The Purple Tadashi Shoji Gown
Mrs. Obama wore a purple sleeveless with subtle floral detailing from Japanese American designer, Tadashi Shoji’s fall 2015 collection to welcome Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan and his wife, Akie Abe, in April 2015.
5. An Off-The-Shoulder Naeem Khan Ballgown
In 2015, FLOTUS wore a beautiful cream coloured off-the-shoulder Naeem Khan ballgown in honour of the Nordic leaders visiting the White House.
6. Rose-Gold Sequin Dress by Versace
At Michelle Obama’s last state dinner in October 2016 she opted for the stunning rose-gold, sequined gown by designer Versace.
