Liberia born model, Deddeh Howard in collaboration with her photographer boyfriend, Raffael Dickreuter have created the ‘Black Mirror’ campaign to bring awareness to the lack of diversity in the fashion industry. Black mirror recreates some of the iconic advertising campaigns we have all seen by cleverly placing Deddeh as the main model in exactly the same pose and look as the original.
“I hope this project can help to bring awareness back to the positive side of black people. Unfortunately we are rarely shown in a positive light in the media, but can see countless times when yet another black person gets shot or arrested. Seeing Jasmine Tookes wearing the most expensive bra at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show was so inspiring, we need more of those moments”.

Speaking to BuzzFeedNews Dedeh explained
“I thought it was perfect because we are mirroring two images. When you [black women] look in the mirror you question: ‘This could be me, why is this not me?’.”
