People have sex for various reasons: for fun, to get pregnant or in some cases for exercise. There are several healthy benefits of having sex, which I will discuss below.
A Good Mood
Sex is pleasurable… both physically and mentally. Some studies have suggested that sex can elevate moods, reduce anxiety and depression.
No need for expensive face creams or beauty products, the increased blood circulation and oxygenation of the blood during sex provides you with a glow, which gives you a temporary brighter complexion. Not only that, but an orgasm triggers a rush of endorphins and growth hormones that help heal damage caused to the skin by the sun, smoking and cortisol buildup, which is associated with the thinning of the skin. So don’t limit your orgasms, your skin with thank you for it.
You can almost refer to sex as a sleeping pill as in the majority of cases, you’re out like a baby afterwards as when you have an orgasm, the body releases a relaxation hormone called prolactin which relaxes the body and helps you nod off a little quicker.
According to research, having sex on a weekly basis stimulates the immune system and provides protection from the common cold. Research has shown a link between having sex once or twice a week and higher levels of substances found in saliva and the nasal lining, which helps our immune system fight colds and flu’s. So say goodbye to the flu jab and prescribe yourself with a weekly dosage of sex.
A Stronger Heart
As far as the heart is concerned, sex is just another form of exercise and as we all know, exercise is good for you. Depending on the intensity of your ‘session’ ; sex not only strengthens your muscles, it can burn calories by increasing your heart rate, and get your whole body working. So all those that despise the word ‘cardio’ ; this is your pleasurable alternative and yes… you can thank me later.
