Like every other year before this we meet or come across many inspiring people who are doing amazing things in their respective fields. This year in conjunction with Hustle & Heels Ladies Lunch 2nd Anniversary Dinner on Sunday, December 4th, we want to recognise the works of these 5 ladies who have showed outstanding work ethic and a drive to succeed while being fun and championing many useful causes.
So in no particular order:
Shea Moss, owner of Shea’d Nails, is a 25 year old entrepreneur and beauty shop owner with 11 years’ experience in the world of nails.
At the tender age of 14 Shea started to craft her skills by shadowing some of the most talented nail technicians in East London. At 18 Shea undertook a table within a hairdressers and began to build her own clientele. Her forward thinking creativity for design and creativity quickly made her one of the most sought after nail technicians in London. Hard working and determined to improve Shea pushed herself to innovate new designs and raised enough capital to become a shop owner at 21. Shea is a well-known name in the industry and her Instagram following catapulted almost overnight as she uploaded new innovative designs daily.
Fast forward 6 years and Shea has now moved to her salon in Stratford. Shea has always strived for greatness and her talent has not gone unnoticed – celebrities such as Broadway star Cynthia Erivo, British athletes Ashleigh Nelson and Marilyn Okoro and global model Amber Rose have all requested Shea’s services in London.
Shea now continues to expand her business and in doing so has managed to create new working opportunities for other many talented young people. Shea has an online shopping site and has now employed a makeup artist, hair stylists and lash technicians to create a ‘one stop shop’ beauty experience for her clients.
Hayley Mulenda is a 19-year-old Multi-Award Winning Motivational Speaker, Entrepreneur and Author that aspires to help others reach their aspirations! She has 4 awards to her name and one of the awards being supported by Mayor of London, 10 Downing Street and Natwest. Hayley Mulenda is labeled “Miss Inspiration” and “The Spark”, many have highlighted that she is a spark of hope, inspiration and the spark that is needed to help you get out of bed at 6am in the morning. Many young people look up to her for the resilience she has to break barriers in order for young people to walk through and not just young people but ethnic minorities too.
Positive For Youth admires her as an individual for the fact that at such a young age she managed to build her own registered motivational speaking company, promoting education to school children all over the UK. Hayley has toured up and down the UK, working with different universities (including Russell group) and talking to thousands of students in different secondary schools, colleges, and youth organisations. Hayley has conducted talks at the houses of parliament, her talks and seminars have been described as ‘life-changing’, ‘inspirational’, and ‘fun’ and she herself has been described as a force not to be reckoned with and a young person to look out for. Hayley integrates love, wisdom, and humour – she’s able to empower young people in a way they’ll never forget! Hayley has been recognised globally for her work, featured in newspapers, online blogs in Austria and a magazine in Brooklyn, New York. The Huffington Post has recognised Hayley as an incredible young woman who is doing inspirational work in the world!
Siana is the producer of upcoming film, ‘1500 and Counting’, investigating police brutality in the UK and deaths in state custody. She is also a seasoned public speaker, social critic, and a History graduate of the University of Cambridge, and has been noted for her unapologetic commentary on the intersection between race and gender in Britain and across the diaspora and how this affects the lives of Black British women in particular and society at large.
