In terms of overall health, gum care is something that isn’t spoken about very often but can result in various complications from the relatively minor- bad breath (but not pleasant) to life threatening if not taken care of.

Below are various methods you can employ to ensure that your teeth and gums are kept in tip top condition.
VITAMIN C is a known nutrient for good gum health. Take a good quality Vitamin C supplement with meals and be sure to eat lots of dark green vegetables and oranges which are naturally full of Vitamin C.
Vitamin C via organic food is always best but if you are not a natural fruit and vegetable eater, vegetable powders and homemade fruit smoothies are great ways to get a lot of vitamins quickly and stress free.
GUM MASSAGE stimulates circulation, speeding the healing time of damaged and sensitive gum tissue. Use your thumb and forefinger to massage your gums firmly but gently in a circular motion on the entire bottom and upper jaw.
BAKING SODA when combined with an equal amount of sea salt, it makes an inexpensive but powerful tooth brushing product. The baking soda gently cleans plaque from the teeth, dislodging even stuck-on plaque at the gum line and the salt tones gum tissues. You can use regular toothpaste in the morning and the salt/soda combination at night.
APPLE CIDER VINEGAR is another powerful healer in the war against gum disease. Add one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to a cup of water and use it as a rinse after brushing with baking soda. You can also drink the rest of the water to build up your system and fight gum disease from the inside.
For the best results, use only the raw and unprocessed variety of apple cider vinegar with the ‘mother’ in it. This can be found in healthfood stores.
Add a little TEA TREE OIL to your toothbrush every time you brush. Tea tree oil not only heals the gums, it’s antiseptic and antibiotic fights bacteria where it starts. For a stronger treatment, massage a drop of tea tree oil into your gums just before bedtime and do not rinse as the oil works overnight to protect your gums from plaque.
